Thara Memory, Artistic Director and Conductor

Thara Memory is an award-winning trumpeter, music educator, and community leader in the Pacific Northwest. As a performer, he has worked with James Brown and Eddie Harris among others. In addition to being Artistic Director for the Sinfonietta, Mr. Memory currently is Director of the Mel Brown Septet, and his own Thara Memory Superband. As an educator, in 2004 he took his high school jazz band to perform at New York City's Lincoln Center for the Essentially Ellington Jazz Competition. As a community leader, Mr. Memory is a relentless advocate for funding for the arts and young people involved with the arts. Finally, Mr. Memory was the Regional Arts and Culture Council Performing Arts Fellowship winner in 2005.
